In the process of deciding what new solid collection to bring to the store, we had a few things in mind that we knew were important – texture, weight, color saturation, soft hand, and an overall beautiful palette. These Cloud9 Cirrus Solids were just what we were looking for.
There are a lot of reasons to love Cirrus Solids. This yarn-dyed cotton broadcloth is constructed by weaving two yarns together. This type of weave is called a cross-weave, crossing two slightly different shades together to create a rich color and super-soft hand. The two yarns are called the weft (moving left to right) and the warp (moving top to bottom).
Another reason we love Cirrus Solids is for their versatility: in other words, they can be used in quilts and garments alike and they blend well with other fabrics too. The color palette works great with our favorite Cloud9 collections and we love mixing it with Andover’s new Modern Plaids.
And last but not least, they are organic! Like all Cloud9 Fabrics, these solids are made with 100% certified organic cotton and eco-responsible low impact dyes. This makes for great garments and projects for little ones. We can’t wait to see what you make!
