Local sewists will be over the moon for our latest find–a template to stitch a map of Portland!
The finished map quilt is approximately 36″ x 42″, small and manageable. Wouldn’t it make a delighful baby gift? Or displayed as a wall hanging for family and friends to admire? We’ll be hard at work on one for the store, but until then the templates are here for you and ready to be taken home, gifted, and stitched!
The directions instruct you to hand quilt the map and what a luxurious way to spend evenings! Keep an eye out in the next few weeks for some new tools and supplies for handwork. Soon we’ll have a nice selection of floss, embroidery snips, and embroidery patterns from Sajou to join our wooden hoops, needles, and Essex linen blend fabric bolts.
I imagine a faster approach would be to lower your feed dogs and work away with your free-motion foot or BERNINA Stitch Regulator. You could have the entire quilt done in no time! I can even see selecting neighborhoods personal to you and stitching those onto smaller projects–pillowcases or couch pillows, quilt blocks, or even displayed in a wooden hoop.
Show your local pride and fancy stitching in one beautiful project!
