Handmade Holidays: Silkscreen Silhouettes

With the holiday season fast approaching I wanted to talk a little about the great classes I have coming up at Modern Domestic. I am a big do-it-yourselfer when it comes to the holiday season and I would love to assist you in making some personal and original silk screened holiday gifts and cards.

Coming up just this Sunday is my very favorite! Handmade Holiday: Silkscreen Cards. I have been silk screening my seasons greetings for the last few years and they have always been a big hit. I love coming up with the graphics every year and creating something personal for my friends and family. One-of-a-kind cards are a the best kind of mail to open and will surely make the fridge this holiday season!

Handmade Holidays: Silkscreen Gifts

Now, I don’t know about you, but holiday shopping is hard! I rack my brain thinking of the perfect gifts for everyone on my list, but my very favorite thing to do is make them! Its so easy and fun. With one screen you are able to make enough gifts to fill Santa’s sleigh. Last year I made an ambitious line of totes for my sister and mother, while sets of tea towels were a big success for my aunts and second cousins. All of these items can be made with the right design and one single screen. Our Silkscreen Gifts class is scheduled to have extra printing time to allow you to get a whole lot crossed off your list in just a few hours.

My new favorite idea for gift giving is printed Cameos. I remember my grandmother having cameos of my mother and her brothers hanging on her wall. The adorable little silhouettes of children in your family make wonderful gifts. This has been a wonderful class to create and I can’t wait to see how much my sister loves the sweet cameo of my new baby nephew.

Happy Holidays! Make Something!

I can hardly believe it, but Christmas is just around the corner. Come into Modern Domestic this Friday night for the Handmade Holiday extravaganza and check out these classes as well as the many others that are available. Hope to see you there!
