Sewing with the Portland Modern Quilt Guild

In just short of a week (Saturday the 2nd of October from 6-9pm), we will host our monthly sewing night with the wonderful Portland Modern Quilt Guild. This is a creative, super talented, easy laughing, and generous bunch. But this sewing night, however, NOT a PMQG only event, and is open to ANYONE! For just $10, you can get 3 hours of stitching at Modern Domestic with these quilters.

If you have taken a quilt class here with Elizabeth, or are just curious what other quilters look like, think you might want to start your first piecing project, or just want to get out of the house and share your love of quilting in public, this is a great way to share the quilt love.

Sometimes, Jen even brings chocolate treats! You might find Jill working away with some of her custom templates, or enjoy the easy going giggles of Rachel. We always enjoy seeing what these ladies bring in to work on, and hope you will join in the fun and see for yourself.

Hi there, I vist my elderly father in Portland ( I live in California) on a regular basis and would like to join the Portland Modern Quilt Guild and also attend the october 21st meeting. Would you please e-mail information on how I can join the group. Also, what is Modern Domestic? Is this a shop? My dad lives in northeast Portland so anything close by is of interest. Unfortunately, when I visit I don’t have access to a sewing machine. Thanks for your help.

Hi Bev, The Portland Modern Quilt Guild is not a part of Modern Domestic, but they do meet monthly for a sewing night at our shop. We are a sewing machine dealership, and sewing studio. We rent machines by the hour and offer many classes. Have a look here to find out more about the PMQG. http://portlandmodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/ We hope to see you when you are in Portland!
