Sew for Service

This event was brought to our attention by our dear customer Jamie Fay Whitaker. Sewing for service is a wonderful way to bond with other sewists, learn something new, and help those in need. There is a great opportunity coming up on Monday, January 16th. Here is what Jamie has to say about Binky Patrol:
Binky patrol is a nonprofit that was started 15 years ago by Susan Finch. The organization has put together 750,000 “binkies” at their volunteer events nationwide. The binkies are sent to various organizations that support children in need. Some of the nonprofits that are provided with these comforting blankets are homeless shelters, DSHS, children’s hospice, hospitals (Doernbecher has received blankets), tsunami victims, children of soldiers, and the list goes on. The event coming up on MLK Jr’s Day of Service is in need of sewists to put together the “binkies” that will be cut and pinned by volunteers. Martin Luther king Jr once  said “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?” Do something for others this MLK day!
