Modern Minimal; Another Girl Quilt

I finished quilting and binding the second of my twin sized quilts! Honestly, I have been wanting to make my lovely daughters quilts for their beds for years, but the thought of actually quilting them was just too daunting. Once we set up the quilt frame and BERNINA 820, there was absolutely nothing to stop me.

I loved the cover quilt of the beautiful book Modern Minimal by Alissa Height Carlton and thought it would be a great way to showoff some pretty fabric and also come together quickly. The piecing was quick, and the actual time on the frame quilting this took about 3.5 hours. Totally doable in half a day!

I love the way it turned out, and feels so bright and full of pop in shades of pink! I didn’t follow her pattern, but I definitely looked back a the picture for reference. I used the same quilting pattern as I did on the first of the two quilts I did. And they are different, like my girls, but look fun and playful together on their beds.
