We love learning all about our customer’s sewing backgrounds through the Sewist Spotlight, and we are so excited to also start profiling some of our awesome teachers, as well as Bolt and MD’s fantastic staff. How long have you been sewing?
I started sewing when I was twelve. All of my brothers were going through that hippy patchwork phase and I wanted to be just like them so I started piecing.
Tell us about a favorite recent sewing project (what did you make?/who was it for? etc.)
My favorite recent project was a Christmas present for my husband. I made him a shot cotton Colette Negroni. I also finished a honey comb smocked pillow for my sister-in-law’s new living room.
What is your favorite sewing tip/tool?
My favorite sewing tip is always do projects that will build your skill set. The smocked pillow was one for me and I am completely excited to try some more!
Where do you sew?
I sew upstairs in my own little corner. I have a sky light so even when it’s overcast I get plenty of natural light.
What sewing project(s) do you plan to tackle next?
Colette Beignet is my next project. I’ve been wanting to try this pattern for months.
