Every other week, we profile one of our customers to find out a little bit about their sewing life. This week the MD Sewist Spotlight is on Angie Reat.
How long have you been sewing?
My husband bought me a sewing machine for my birthday 2 years ago and I’ve been obsessed with sewing projects ever since.
Tell us about a favorite recent sewing project.
I have been making many things out of Pendleton scraps that I buy at the mill store. I started with pillows and am currently making little zip pouches, iPad covers and various little things out of them. I also recently purchased a book called “we make dolls” because I thought it would be fun to make little funky dolls for my three year old daughter. I am loving how cute they are and am building a little confidence to make up a design myself, but haven’t started that yet.
What is your favorite sewing tip/tool?
I just learned how to use the ruffler foot and binding foot on the Bernina, which is awesome!
Where do you sew?
I sometimes sew at home on the dining table. When I need to get out of the house ( and use a fancier machine than I have) I go to Modern Domestic.
