What do a fox, a whale, a hedgehog and a cat all have in common? They have all made their way into quilts thanks to Elizabeth Hartman! If you haven’t seen Elizabeth’s quilts, now is your chance. This month our classroom has quilts on display made by the talented quilter, author and designer!
Elizabeth Hartman is a self-taught quilter and author of the bestselling The Practical Guide to Patchwork, Modern Patchwork, and the newly-released sampler book, Patchwork City. She also produces individual quilt patterns featuring fun and unique motifs, and is working on her first print fabric collection for Robert Kaufman Fabrics. Elizabeth’s blog, ohfransson.com, has introduced thousands of people to modern quilting. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
There is something special about theses quilts. Each one has it’s own personality. We love the simplicity of solids colors used to create unique repeating patterns.
Elizabeth’s simple geometric shapes and use of repetition creates playful patterns.
Are you a cat lover? Elizabeth’s instructions for this kitty block is on her blog!
