Last week kicked off the first week of the long and wonderful sewing classes for kids! Erica had 4 girls making skirts, tops, headbands and more in her 3 day class! It is so much fun to watch these kids create and relax behind the sewing machines. They are never intimidated by even the more sophisticated BERNINA’s and jump right in to cutting and ironing with out fear. Day two always brings reports from the parents dropping them off about how much they LOVE to sew!
There are sessions of Intro to Apparel still with space available, as well as room in a July session of One Week Boutique, Kids Quilting: Summer Sampler Adventure, Kids Sewing: Sleepover Supplies, and Parent and Child: Intro to Applique. Some of these classes are a week long, and others are just one short session, but all will get your child in touch with their inner fashion designer, quilter, or lover of fabric and creativity.
If you are looking for an activity to do WITH your child this summer, do not miss the Parent and Child: Intro to Applique class. This class is super creativity and will explore pattern and design as you learn the super fun technique of machine applique. Sometimes, kids are the ones who really break free with their uninhibited design sensibility and playful willingness to express! I can’t wait to see what they create with the tallented Anna Joyce.
Maybe your child is drawn to sewing for the pursuit of fashion or just quietly dreams of making stuffed animals. Either way, we have the perfect class for you! And if you act fast, there may just be a space available.
