A few of us MD ladies are boarding a plane this week for the East Coast. Meredith is leaving a few days ahead to spend some time with friends from her pre-Portland life in New York City. Michelle and I travel on the 4th of July and will arrive to a very very hot NYC just in time to watch fireworks and explore some dreamy shops. Then we all board a train for Washington DC Saturday for BU! Erica gets the biggest gold star and a huge hug for holding down the shop by herself, so in order to make her busy week manageable, we are making some adjustments to our hours over the next 10 days or so, see above.
We have plans to go to The City Quilter, where Mere was the manager before moving to PDX. Also, we will stop by Purl Soho, shop for fabric and zippers, maybe grab an afternoon cocktail or two, and explore the city until we fall from exhaustion.
BERNINA University this year is in Washington DC! We get to meet the new 7 Series sewing machines (rumor has it, the arm spans 10″ to the right of the needle, which means the arm span will be larger than the regular full-sized machines!). We’ll also get to see lots of friends from shops from Vermont to Alaska! It should be quite a trip, we are all getting very excited! There will be lots of updates on facebook and twitter as well as blog posts to follow.
