We’d like to extend a warm welcome to Lizzy House who will be joining us for our first ever Home Sewn Weekend this October. Lizzy will be teaching a few workshops over the weekend, including her Meadow Quilt, which is only available as a workshop. She has also given us permission (and sketches!) to digitize for a one-of-a-kind embroidery project that is a top secret surprise! We asked Lizzy to answer a few questions for us and she graciously took some time out of her busy schedule to answer them.
We are huge fans of your fabric collections here at Modern Domestic. Do you have a favorite print out of all the collections you have designed?
I’m torn between some of the prints in Hello Pilgrim, but I really love the Butterflies, and I’m excited about their little future. hint hint hint.

Are you currently working on any new lines of fabric?
I recently finished 2.5 new collections. They will start showing up in stores in the spring of 2015.

What designers/artists inspire you?
Naomi Iro. She’s the greatest.

What sewing project(s) are on your bucket list?
One day, and hopefully soon, I’d really love to make a Single Girl. I’ve always wanted to and I really admire Denyse Schmidt’s work. And I’m a single girl. I like the idea of the whole thing.

The Meadow quilt has a special meaning for you. Would you mind sharing a bit about that with us?
It’s tied to a lot of things to me, but largely it’s about the fabric collection it’s made with–Hello Pilgrim. The long and short is that hard things can be beautiful and rewarding.
