Fall Sewing: Apparel for Men

The end of summer is near and we’re getting excited for fall sewing! We have so many great apparel patterns for women, that sometimes the menswear patterns are overlooked. We have some fabulous patterns for men in the shop, and many handsome fabrics to pair with them. We picked out a few of our favorite combos to get you in the mood for autumn!

Thread Theory’s button-up Newcastle Cardigan with its button front and shawl collar would be perfect with this comfy cotton jersey knit.

Robert Kaufman’s Essex linen-cotton blend is ideal for the Negroni–a slim-fitted button up collared shirt with back yoke from Walden by Colette Patterns.  It is a great wardrobe staple and easy to customize.

The Albion Duffle, also from Walden, and this charcoal wool-blend make a great pair. While The Albion is part of the menswear line, it is also a great jacket for women. It has generous pockets, a hood, and is designed with leather toggle closures, which we carry in the shop.

The Goldstream Peacoat from Thread Theory would be cozy in this slate blue flecked Japanese wool. This is a double-breasted coat that can be made with or without a hood and is easy to dress up or down.

We’re looking forward to seeing how you customize these awesome patterns! Stop in and see us soon!
