There’s still time to sign up for our very first Home-Sewn Weekend! In addition to meeting and working with our amazing special guests, you’ll also be stitching up three Modern Domestic exclusive projects!
Friday morning you’ll get started with this Cozy Cowl, designed to get you comfortable with the BERNINA machines you’ll be sewing on throughout the weekend. With this project you’ll be working with a fine locally sourced wool (hint, hint!) and Japanese double gauze. Complete this cowl with one-step buttonholes and you’ll even be sewing the buttons on with the sewing machine!
You’ll end your exciting Friday by sewing up a Pearl Bracelet Pillowcase with a machine embroidered Lizzy House design on the cuff. With the exception of the machine embroidery, this adorable pillowcase is completely constructed on BERNINA sergers! See how the embroidery module and serger can easily complement your sewing machine and enhance your home sewing studio!
On Sunday afternoon you’ll be whipping up an adorable Catnap Apron complete with a machine embroidered pocket designed by Lizzy House! With this project you’ll be introduced to the ruffler presser foot and the binding attachment. This apron is perfect for the upcoming baking season!
Just think–by the end of the weekend you’ll have made a quilted faux bois piped pillow, a cozy cowl with buttons and buttonholes, a machine embroidered and serged pillowcase, a fabulous gathered and bound Catnap apron, and started a quilt! There are still a few spots available to join us. You’ll feel so productive you’ll want to continue your sewing streak at home!
