Embroidered Doggie Bed

If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, you’ll know that I (Heather) have recently added a furry friend into my family. She’s a 3 month old corgi pup, and my whole world has become obsessed over this little gal!

Prior to her arrival, I brainstormed what I could possibly make rather than buy new. A bed was on the top of my list. Especially since I could embroider her name on it! I chose some of our durable colored denim for the base of Millie’s bed. It is so easy to sew with and embroidered quite nicely.

I choose to embroider on the BERNINA 780, it’s fast and easy to select from a variety of fonts and simply type out your desired word. My favorite is the cursive satin font, Millie stitched out so pretty! After embroidery, I cut the panels for a simple boxed cushion. If you’ve never made a boxed cushion before, The Sewing Bible is a great resource for all types of sewing projects and it also includes directions for this very cushion. We have this book in stock.

Millie is loving her bed! It’s been so fun to have her and I’m sure this is just the beginning of what I’ll make for her! Next up, a raincoat! 🙂
