A hands-on introduction to sewing designed for complete beginners.
Every class includes 30 days of free studio access so you can finish what you started, practice what you learned, and keep going at your own pace. After that, the studio is available by the hour: fully-equipped machines, tables, irons, cutting space, and the quiet to focus
Not at all. All of our Sew Basic & Learn to Sew classes are designed for people who have never touched a sewing machine. Each class listing notes the recommended skill level so you can find something that fits.

For some classes, just yourself. We always provide machines, scissors, and classroom tools. Classes have a supply list showing specific materials (fabric for a project, for example). The supplies will be listed under each class description and will be emailed out before class.
Not always, some classes are in session when the shop is closed. If you need to purchase your class supplies, note our shop hours and anticipate about 45 minutes to shop. You will receive 10% off your purchase when signed up for the class.
Yes. Our classroom is fully outfitted with BERNINA sewing machines and sergers you’ll use for the duration of the class. You are welcome to bring your own machine for private classes, please inquire with your instructor.
Cancellations more than 72 hours before a class start date receive a full refund or credit. Cancellation within 72 hours is non-refundable.
Yes, for all adult classes, students must be 16 years old to participate in them.
Yes! We love having classes for kids ages 8-16 years old. Most of our classes are hosted on weekends during the school year and weekdays during summer and holidays. Check out our class listings.
