Learn to Sew: Lined Canvas Tote

Make this fun, useful tote bag out of your favorite fabrics! You will learn easy techniques to cut out your fabric pieces, sew a pocket, add shape at the bottom, and attach the straps. This bag is fully lined and you will learn techniques to create different sizes! This class is perfect for first-time sewists and for beginners who have sewn a little but want to gain confidence using our BERNINA sewing machines.
Supply List:
– 1 yard Exterior Fabric (recommend canvas or bottom-weight twill)
– 1 yard Lining Fabric (recommend quilting cotton)
– 2 yards of 1” or 1-1/4” Cotton Webbing for Straps
– 1 spool Mettler Metrosene all-purpose polyester thread in color to match exterior fabric
All supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Please purchase supplies in advance of your class. If you plan to shop for supplies the day of your class we recommend arriving at least 45 minutes early.
Skill Level: Learn to Sew, ages 15 and up.
What is a Learn to Sew Class Level at Modern Domestic? You have never touched a sewing machine before or it has been years since you have. You know very little to nothing about sewing but you are eager to get started.
