|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, happening 4 times

Four Session Class Series: January 5, 12, 19 & 26

Learn how to tackle curves! Large blocks and simple strip-piecing make this a fun quilt to explore colors and pattern-play. The modular blocks can be arranged in many different ways to customize your quilt.

Class Level: Beginner (age 15 & up) *Zoom link will be sent out two days before class.

We are thrilled to bring step-by-step quilting education to you VIRTUALLY. This is an exciting opportunity for us to expand beyond the Portland Metro area and bring our community together from wherever you are!

In this virtual class we will dive into basic cutting techniques, piecing, and how to create accurate and consistent 1/4″ seam allowances. The main goal of this course is to complete the top of your quilt with class time and weekly homework. We will discuss how to baste, quilt, and bind your quilt, however these steps will not be completed in class.

What is a Beginner-level class at Modern Domestic? You’ve taken a class or two and are starting to get comfortable with the basics. You know what a seam allowance is, you’ve sewn a little on your own, but you still need a little help with remembering how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. This skill level is not for people who have never used a sewing machine before.

*72 hour class cancelation required for refund. This class requires a working sewing machine and access to the internet. No refunds will be given due to sewing machine or connectivity issues.
