An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Sunday, repeating until March 21, 2022

LIVE ZOOM Sundays, February 6, 13, 20, 27, March 6, & 20 from 4-6pm PT
In this virtual class we will dive into basic cutting techniques, piecing, and how to create accurate and consistent 1/4″ seam allowances. The main goal of this course is to complete the top of your quilt with class time and weekly homework. We will discuss how to baste, quilt, and bind your quilt, however these steps will not be completed in class. During the duration of your 6-week virtual class you will have a 10% off student promo code to use. In-store pickup is available at both locations, and shipping is free on orders $100 and up.
About the Quilt: The Campfire Glow Quilt Pattern used two traditional blocks, the 9-Patch and Sawtooth Star, to create a fun modern quilt. This is the perfect pattern for a newer quilter or for a seasoned quilter trying to find inspiration again! The pattern requires yardage for the “modern solid” version or for the “stash buster”, it provides multiple fabric cut options. Material requirements on second image.
Supply List:
• Then Came June Granny Cabin pattern
• Quilting cotton — Yardage required on pattern for desired size. The pattern requires yardage depending on sizes. Material requirements on second image
• Thread: Large Mettler Metrosene
• Your own sewing machine to work from home during zoom class
Class length: 6 two-hour zoom sessions:
Each zoom session will have a lecture/demo introduction and the second half of each session will be time to sew and work on our quilt tops together. This is a great time to ask questions and gain quilting confidence. All supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Our first session will go over picking fabrics for your quilt. Week 2 is when we will begin cutting fabric. Please purchase supplies in advance of your class.
Class Level: Beginner (age 15 & up) *Zoom link will be sent out one hour before each session.
What is a Beginner-level class at Modern Domestic? You’ve taken a class or two and are starting to get comfortable with the basics. You know what a seam allowance is, you’ve sewn a little on your own, but you still need a little help with remembering how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. These classes usually have little if any homework to complete outside of class time. The prerequisite for any Beginner class is a Sew Basics class, Learn to Sew class, or equivalent. This skill level is not for people who have never used a sewing machine before.
*72 hour class cancelation required for refund. This class requires a working sewing machine and access to the internet. No refunds will be given due to sewing machine or connectivity issues.
