Advanced Beginner: Remy Raglan

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner*, ages 15 and up
The Remy Raglan by Sew House Seven is a simple, timeless top. It features a relaxed fit at the bust and waist with three sleeve choices and an optional keyhole button closure. In this class, you’ll learn to sew french seams, a bias neck facing and two gathering stitch techniques.
All class supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Please purchase supplies in advance of your class. You are welcome to purchase supplies online and pick up the day of your class, just select NE Alberta Store for pick-up. If you plan to shop in-store for supplies the day of your class, we recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to shop. Please note that our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm.
Supply List:
– Pattern Required: Remy Raglan by Sew House Seven, (possibly need to download and print additional Gathered Sleeve Expansion Pattern)
– Fabric required for size desired (recommend light to medium weight woven fabric, ie. linen, linen/rayon, cotton voile, cotton gauze)*
– 1 spool of Mettler Metrosene All-Purpose Polyester Thread (coordinating or color matching with exterior fabric is recommended)
– One Button (approx. 20mm)
*Make sure to pre-wash your fabric in advance of class. This prevents possible fabric shrinkage that could otherwise make your finished garment too small.
*Skill Level: Advanced Beginner – You have a good handle on the basics and are ready to dip your toe into more challenging waters. You’re still fairly new to sewing from patterns and could use help with how to manipulate the pattern to get a better fit. You want to add some new skills to your repertoire (invisible zippers, setting-in sleeves, sewing with a serger, etc.). Classes generally require homework.
