The latest session of my Classic Shirt Dress class wrapped up this week. I had such a great time with these ladies, and everyone made absolutely adorable dresses!
While I do want to show you the iron cord holders, I also just wanted to share what’s been going on at the store today. There’s always so much activity–sewing, creating, open sewists–I feel sometimes like we’re brimming!

For years, I have had the same rather boring stockings that haven’t quite expressed my love for Christmas decorating. This year I made a promise to myself and to everyone here at MD that I would make new embroidered stockings for everyone in my family (including the dog and cat!).
Erica and I are IN LOVE with Sewaholic’s Minoru jacket pattern. So in love, in fact, that we have made 8 jackets between the two of us! The pattern provides the perfect raincoat for our Oregon winters, a super sweet vintage wool coat or the ideal lightweight windbreaker.
Saturday morning was bustling at MD. Meredith kicked off the first meeting of the Sewing Society.
