A Busy August

Our summer has been so much fun! With kids classes most weeks, a trip to San Francisco for BERNINA University, and people coming by from near and far to see the expansion we have been busy! We have started showing quilts in our big downstairs classroom and are introducing new teachers for fall along with new classes and fabric collections coming in weekly!

This weekend we are delighted to host some portions of the PNW PMQG Meet-Up. Friday, we will be having a series of Mini-Classes aimed at sharing the bursting local talent of our PMQG members. The classes are all currently full and limited to event attendees, but if you are curious to learn more, please check out the PMQG website and join them for a guild meeting!

Friday evening we are hosting a party for this event as well and the shop will remain open, but there will be no Friday Night Sewcial this Friday evening, August 16th. Saturday is a day of charity sewing for the event participants, and we will not be able to offer Open Sewing that day at any point, but are certainly open all day for regular shopping.

Next Sunday, August 25th at 2:30, we are delighted to be hosting a party for two talented local quilters and authors. Christina Lane and Diane Gilleland have written a beautiful book, Quilting Happiness, that showcases many quilts with beautiful patterns and instructions as well as wonderful exercises that can help you define and access the joy you find in quilting.

This event is open to everyone and will have a couple of great demos by Christina and Diane that will help you get familiar with how you quilt! If you purchase the book that day, you will have the chance to have it signed, as well as get a free kit for a Liberty block that Christina will showcase during the event.
